Seven people were injured in a collision Wednesday on the southbound 110 Freeway, causing a massive rush hour traffic jam.
Six vehicles were involved in the accident, which occurred around 5:25 near Manchester Avenue in South Los Angeles, said Matt Spence of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Three people were critically injured and four were treated for minor injuries at the scene and released, Spence said.
A Sig Alert was issued around 5:45 p.m. when authorities closed four lanes of the freeway and waited for tow trucks to arrive.
