A 17-year-old boy was killed in an apartment fire in Anaheim, according to the Orange County Coroner. Reggie Kumar reports from Anaheim for the NBC4 News at 6 on Saturday, May 10, 2014.

A teenager was killed and 20 others were displaced following a two-alarm apartment fire in Anaheim early Saturday, officials said.

Firefighters responded just before 5 a.m. to the blaze at an apartment complex located in the 2100 block of East Westport Drive, according to Sgt. Bob Dunn of the Anaheim Police Department.

One person was found dead when emergency personnel arrived, Dunn said. The Orange County Coroner identified the victim as 17-year-old Justin Jewell of Anaheim.

Neighbors said Jewell was a Katella High School student who lived in an upstairs unit with his mother.

"He was very timid and shy and quiet, but very positive and friendly," a neighbor said.

Eight apartments were damaged in the fire, and 20 residents were displaced from their home. Red Cross was assisting seven displaced residents.

The cause of the fire is unknown. Investigators said they did not suspect foul play.
