A stolen car pursuit ended after the suspects crashed into a police cruiser, leaving both suspects arrested and facing charges with assault with a deadly weapon on an officer. Karma Dickerson reports for the NBC4 News on Dec. 14, 2023.
The driver who led police on a pursuit that ended with him ramming into a sheriff's vehicle and instigating an hourslong standoff in Bellflower has been taken into custody, said the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
According to LASD, sheriff's deputies on routine patrol noticed a stolen Dodge Charger at a motel on Thursday. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, prompting the driver to crash into a patrol vehicle and run into the motel immediately after.
Witnesses recall hearing a loud sound when the pursuit suspect rammed into authorities on Thursday at the end of the chase.
"...and then all of sudden, 'Boom!' You just hear the impact," one witness told NBC4.

It took roughly two hours but the suspect surrendered to authorities around 12:30 p.m. A total of three people came out of the motel, resulting in the arrests of two people.
Those individuals, whose names have not been revealed, face charges that include assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and vehicular assault.
No injuries were reported.
