One person is in custody after an officer involved shooting in an Eagle Rock community Friday afternoon.
Police said they received a call around 1:40 p.m. about a man who was having suicidal ideations and armed with firearm in the 5000 block of N La Roda Avenue.
When officers arrived, the armed man was in the front porch of a residence. The man shot in the direction of the officers and police fired back, according to the LAPD.
The suspected gunman went into the residence and refused to come out. He eventually surrendered to police and was taken into custody.

The man was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
A Large strip of La Roda Avenue was blocked off as officers continued their investigation.
