An investigation is underway after police shot and killed a person following a pursuit in the San Gabriel Valley.
The San Gabriel Police Department was conducting a traffic stop on a 2015 Jeep when the driver failed to stop and a pursuit began in the city of San Gabriel.
Officers were in pursuit of the driver Wednesday night until it came to an end in Rosemead. For reasons unknown, officers opened fire on that individual.
Firefighters arrived to treat the driver but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a press release from the San Gabriel Police Department, the California Department of Justice is leading the investigation.
"In an effort to maintain the integrity of the investigation, the San Gabriel Police Department is limited in the information it can share at this time. Every effort will be made to provide updates when feasible," the release said.
Neither the driver's name nor the names of the officers who opened fire were disclosed. The investigation is ongoing.
