Pomona police officers are teaching students integrity and discipline through a tough boot camp program.

The Cops 4 Kids Academy is a 10-week semi-military style program that teaches students ages 9-11 about physical fitness and how to be mentally strong.

"We are just here to do our jobs, but for kids we want them to understand we are here to help them and we are here for them if they need it," said Mick Hedlund, a Pomona police officer.

Pomona police officers say the program is life changing. Students finish the program with better behavior at home and with police officers.
