Shots Fired at End of Pursuit in Southern LA County

Shots were fired Thursday morning at the end of a pursuit in southern Los Angeles County.

The pursuit began on the 605 Freeway after a report of a stolen vehicle. The driver exited the freeway in the Downey area before two occupants got out of the vehicle.

Shots were fired in the direction of officers, according to the California Highway Patrol. The driver also attempted to back into a CHP motorcycle officer, according to authorities.

Aerial video showed a CHP motorcyle on its side on the street.

No injuries were reported. Two people were in custody.
