Authorities Terminate Pursuit After Driver Travels on Surface Streets, Freeways for Three Hours

The driver was at times traveling on the wrong side of the road, nearly hitting other cars.

Authorities called off a three-hour pursuit after chasing a driver traveling on surface streets and several freeways, and at times was driving on the wrong side of the road, nearly hitting cars Sunday night.

The chase began in the Pasadena area at 5 p.m. on the freeway.

The driver was wanted for criminal threats, the California Highway Patrol said.

The driver transitioned onto multiple freeways, including the 10, 405, 118, and 210. 

The driver hit 100 miles per hour at times, and kept circling back to the Pasadena area throughout the chase. 

At an hour and a half into the pursuit, the car rode up on another driver on the freeway. The driver of the other car pulled out of the way just in time.

The Pasadena Police Department was working with the California Highway Patrol.

Two and a half hours into the chase, the driver traveled on surface streets, and nearly hit several vehicles. 

Pasadena Police were tracking the driver in surveillance mode, with no lights or sirens, around 7:45 p.m.

The driver was traveling slowly and obeying traffic stops in the Altadena area as Pasadena police tracked the car. 

After pursuing the vehicle for three hours, Pasadena Police terminated the pursuit.
