Law enforcement is investigating the discovery of a deceased adult in Palos Verdes Estates after similar findings were made in the area over the past week.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said deputies were called at about 1 p.m. Saturday to the 31000 block of Palos Verdes Drive South following a report of a body found. Upon arrival, first responders discovered an unknown adult down the cliffside of the location.

After investigators examined the remains, they confirmed the parts found on the cliffside on Saturday were not related to the remains that were found on the shoreline earlier this week.

The deceased appears to have fallen from Dina's Vistapoint and been at the location for an extended period due to "severe decomposition," according to authorities.

The grim discovery comes after remains were reported in the area earlier this week. The first instance was on Christmas morning and the second was on Thursday.

Investigators are working to determine the identity of all the remains. Anyone with information about the remains is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
