A fire damaged an automotive repair shop in San Gabriel Wednesday morning, but no injuries were reported, according to fire officials.
The fire was reported at R & S Complete Auto Repair, 520 W. Ralph St., shortly after 6 a.m., according to a dispatcher at the Verdugo Fire Communications Center. Smoke could be seen throughout the surrounding community about 10 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles.
Firefighters gained the upper hand on the flames within an hour, and prevented the blaze from spreading to adjacent homes.
