Police released surveillance images Tuesday of two men who allegedly stole nearly a dozen exotic turtles from a reptile supply business in Santa Ana.
The images were recorded Sept. 2 during a burglary in the southeast portion of Santa Ana. Police would not identify the store that was burglarized.
The newly released surveillance images show the two alleged turtle-nappers and their getaway vehicle, a black truck (pictured, below).
About 10 ornate wood turtles (pictured, below) worth $750 were taken, according to detectives.
"I've never seen anything like this in our city, people stealing exotic turtles," said Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
Anyone with information about the case was asked to call Detective David Yettaw 714-245-8432.
