Six homes were burned and a dog was found dead after a fire broke out in Pasadena.
The fire was reported around 1:45 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of East Bell Street between Mentor and Catalina Avenue, according to the Pasadena Fire Department.
A home that was destroyed in the fire had been owned by the family for six decades. The fire also took the life of their 7-year-old English Bulldog.
"It took down my father-in-law‘s entire home and it took the life of his dog, Roxy," said Nina Lazola.

Lizaola, whose father-in-law lives directly behind her, says she was alerted to the fire she ran outside to found his home engulfed in flames. She frantically searched for Roxy but was unable to find her.
"She was hiding, they couldn’t find her. But no one was in the house, everyone was safe," said Lizola.
Lizaola and her husband grabbed their two dogs Peanut and Pumpkin and tried hosing down the fire until firefighters arrived – to save what they could.

It took crews 45 minutes to knock down the fire and no human injuries were reported.
"There were so many units involved and that creates a problem in making sure everyone is out and we don’t have any life safety issues," said Pasadena Fire Battalion Chief Christian Miller.
In total, ten people were displaced by the fire. Five homes had varying degrees of fire damage and the one that was destroyed belonged to Alex Lizaola’s father. He grew up there and it had been in the family for 60 years.
"I've lived here my whole life, so I know pretty much all the neighbors on the street and just the fact that everyone was more than willing to help," said Lizola.
The Department of Water and Power was called to assist with downed live power lines.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
