A man who stole a vehicle and led police on a high-speed chase Tuesday surrendered after the car began to slow down after apparently running out of gas in Long Beach.
Colton police initiated the pursuit around 10:45 p.m. after finding the vehicle was reportedly stolen from Long Beach. Multiple agencies tag-teamed to halt the vehicle as the driver travelled through various freeways from Colton to Long Beach.
The driver was traveling at 100 mph at its peak speed on freeways and continued to speed through surface streets, running red lights and stop signs.
