Man Wanted for Murder Surrenders at LAPD Station After Pursuit

A man wanted for murder was taken into custody following a brief pursuit in San Pedro. This report aired on the NBC4 News at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2015.

A driver wanted for murder drove himself to an LAPD station to surrender Sunday after leading officers on a short pursuit in San Pedro.

The man appeared to be on the phone as he weaved through traffic and drove past stop signs in a red convertible Ford Mustang.

After about 15 minutes, he drove himself to the LAPD’s Harbor Division station, where he was taken into custody by officers in the parking lot.

The 36-year-old man, whose name was not released, was suspected of killing another man at 8 a.m. Sunday at 20th and Meyler streets, police said. The victim was in his mid-20s.
