Police arrested a man Wednesday sought in a hit-and-run collision that killed a 25-year-old father in Santa Ana.
Alejandro Rivas, 20, was arrested on unrelated charges to the hit-and-run collision that killed Augustine Perez Sosa on Sept. 18, according to a news release from the Santa Ana Police Department. Police described Rivas as a person of interest in the hit-and-run crash.
Sosa, a tree trimmer, was collecting cones when he was fatally struck by a driver who did not stop after the collision.
Rivas was on probation for a home invasion robbery.
Santa Ana Police Department said it will be working with the district attorney's office on pursuing charges related to the fatal collision, according to a news release.
