Possible shooting suspect arrested in Newhall after leading police chase

The driver lead authorities on a pursuit with a dog in the passenger seat.

Police were in pursuit of a possible shooting suspect in LA County on Thursday.

The shooting was reported around 4:10 p.m. near Echo Park.

A woman is believed to have fired multiple shots towards someone she had a verbal altercation with, according to LAPD Lieutenant Jose Castro. Both shots missed and no injuries were reported.

Authorities located the vehicle matching the description and believed the driver of a minivan to be the shooting suspect.

Police initiated the pursuit of the female driver suspected to be armed.

A dog was spotted sitting in the passenger seat of the van as the driver moved through traffic in the San Fernando Valley.

The vehicle stopped multiple times and drove away as deputies attempted to get the driver to come out.
