A reckless driver struck a pedestrian Tuesday night after leading police officers on a car chase from Carson to South Los Angeles.

The pursuit began sometime around 8 p.m. after the driver failed to yield for officers attempting to pull them over for a felony warrant in Torrance. Instead, the driver took off at speeds of more than 100 mph near the 405 Freeway.T

The high-speed driver led the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department on a chase that spilled into Orange County before returning to the Los Angeles area.

After several failed PIT maneuvers, the California Highway Patrol said the driver hit a pedestrian in South Los Angeles on Avalon Boulevard and 92nd Street.

The suspect drove even further and crashed into another car nearby, finally bringing an end to the hectic chase.

The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital. It is unclear how severe their injuries were.

Law enforcement did not say what charges the driver could potentially face.
