The driver of a stolen red Prius who led police on two pursuits on Fourth of July, was arrested following a reckless night time chase in the San Fernando Valley.

The driver of a stolen red Toyota Prius led authorities on a reckless pursuit in the San Fernando Valley Thursday night.

San Fernando police initiated the pursuit just after 7 p.m. after the driver refused to pull over.

The vehicle was driven with a crashed windshield after the driver reached a dead end in an industrial area in Arleta and drove through a yellow gate.

The wrecked red Prius reached speeds of over 100 mph on the freeway, having multiple close calls with other vehicles.

The pursuit ended in a gated residential area in Sunland where the suspect was able to get inside and initiate a foot race with officers.

The driver was arrested, and booked for having an outstanding felony warrant, reckless driving, and evading the police.
