A woman was found dead Tuesday night in a stabbing at a house in South Pasadena.
The stabbing was reported at 8:45 p.m. in the 800 block of Brent Avenue.
The victim, a woman in her 70s, was found with stab wounds to her upper body. She was found by her grandchildren.
Neighbors in the area were shaken up to hear about the brutal death.

"Just shocking. We don’t have a lot of crime in South Pasadena," said Mary, a neighbor in the area. "It’s kind of scary and I’m really sad for this lady, I didn’t know her but good grief."
Details about when the woman was stabbed were not immediately available. Investigators remained at the home early Wednesday.
"This is a very active community and we all come together. I believe people are going to be a lot more concerned about public safety to moving forward," said Judith Harris, who works in the area.
