A former Southern California teacher accused of molesting children was arrested Thursday, two months after he resigned, police said.
Sean Edwards, 49, of Eastvale, turned himself in last month to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station, which began an investigation in allegations that Edwards molested a student at Granite Hill Elementary School during the 2013 school year.
A Riverside County Sheriff’s Department watch commander Thursday night told NBC4 he was not sure why Edwards turned himself in last month.
During that investigation, detectives determined that Edwards may have molested other students over the course of several years, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release Thursday.
Edwards was arrested Thursday for a felony child molestation warrant. His bail is set at $110,000.
