Standoff and Barricade at Hollywood Farmers' Market Prompted Closure

A standoff at the Hollywood Farmers' Market caused police to close it down after a man a has barricaded himself after throwing objects and firing shots.

At around 7:30 a.m. Sunday police responded to the Hollywood Farmers' Market on the1600 block of Cosmo St. after they received multiple reports of someone throwing objects from a balcony.

When police arrived they saw a man throwing rocks from his balcony and a standoff occurred. The man barricaded himself in his apartment.

Shortly before 11 a.m. the man was taken into custody by SWAT.

Video obtained by NBC4 from someone at the Farmers' Market show the man standing on his balcony firing shots into the air.

There is no information if anyone was struck or injured.

This incident is still being investigated.
