The Eli Home for Abused Children was founded in March of 1983. What started as a group of volunteers is now, 31 years later, a multi-faceted organization consisting of 3 shelter facilities, a counseling center, corporate offices, a very successful social enterprise and a place-based initiative program. Our Mission is to welcome, shelter, comfort, heal, encourage and strengthen victims of child abuse and neglect, and to prepare them to reenter the community to lead stable, non-violent lives, free from fear and intimidation. – To Break the Cycle of Child Abuse. Volunteer services play a vital role in allowing Eli to help families. Opportunities are available within the Shelter Program, Administration and the Eli Thrift Store.
