Attorney Robert Shapiro is no longer representing actress Lindsay Lohan, the entertainment news website TMZ.com reported tonight.
Shapiro met with Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel this afternoon and told her he could no longer represent Lohan, who is scheduled to surrendr Tuesday to begin serving a 90-day jail sentence for violating her probation in a pair of driving under the influence cases.
A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department official told the Los Angeles Times tonight that Shapiro was no longer representing Lohan.
Shapiro, a member of the so-called Dream Team that defended football legend O.J. Simpson on murder charges in the mid-1990s, said last week that he recently agreed to represent the 24-year-old Lohan only if she adhered to the terms of probation, including the 90-day jail term.
Shapiro told NBCLA Monday night "Consistent with my policy I will only make comments in open court. Thanks for your nderstanding".
Around 7:50 p.m. a statement was posted on Lindsay Lohan's Twitter site "the only "bookings" that i'm familiar with are Disney Films, never thought that i'd be "booking" into Jail... eeeks."
