Break out the umbrella…again. Two new storms are expected to hit the Southland this week bringing more rain and snow to the region, the National Weather Service said Tuesday.
The first could bring light rain across northern San Luis Obispo County as early as late this afternoon before moving slowly into Ventura and Los Angeles counties, bringing a chance of light rain Wednesday and a chance of showers across north-facing slopes Thursday morning, according to an NWS advisory.
The snow level is expected to remain above 7,000 feet during the storm but could fall as low as 5,500 feet on north-facing slopes as early as Wednesday night, it said.
Across Ventura and Los Angeles counties, rainfall amounts are expected to range from .10 inches to .33 inches, with as much as a half-inch possible in some foothill and mountain locations, the NWS reported.
A second and potentially stronger storm will show up Friday, with showers likely to linger Saturday. That storm is expected to produce more rainfall than the first and bring the snow level down to between 4,000 and 5,000 feet by Friday night, according to the NWS.
