Woman Killed, Several Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on 91 Freeway

CHP closed all lanes of the westbound 91 Freeway after Central Avenue.

A woman was killed and several people were injured Thursday night after a vehicle entered the 91 Freeway going the wrong direction, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 10:51 p.m. on the westbound 91 Freeway just east of Central Avenue. Officers arrived and found several cars crashed and one vehicle fully engulfed in flames, according to the California Highway Patrol.

One woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and several people were injured, according to the CHP.

CHP officers closed all lanes of the westbound lanes of the freeway at Central Avenue after the crash. All lanes were reopened at 2:40 a.m.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
