Hot dogs and pizza fans rejoice! Pizza Hut, known to push the limit on traditional pizza, is unveiling a new pie that will combine the two foods.
Hot dog-stuffed crust pizza will be available in the United States, starting June 18. Pizza Hut said it tested the pizza in Canada, the United Kingdom, South Korea and Australia before its American debut.
The large, one-topping pizza with miniature hot dogs in the crust will sell for $11.99 and come with a side of French’s mustard.
"We wanted to do it in a way that was true to the way that an American would interact with two of their favorite foods," a company spokesperson said, according to Today.com "We haven't done it this way anywhere else around the world and we think we really nailed it. Especially with the mustard on the side [instead of a mustard drizzle]."
A single slice of the American-inspired delicacy has 460 calories and 30 grams of fat, according to FitnessPal app. An entire large pie is 3,680 calories and 240 grams of fat.
This isn’t the first time Pizza Hut has pushed the envelope with crusts. They have offered salty pretzel and curry flavors for adventurous eaters.
