Firefighters Battle Strip Mall Blaze in Montecito Heights

A fire blazed in Montecito Heights strip mall Wednesday morning, destroying three businesses. Firefighters finally subdued the blaze after a few hours, leaving owners with what was left of their businesses. Rick Montanez reports for the NBC4 News at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2016.

Firefighters were battling a blaze that broke out early Wednesday morning at a strip mall in Montecito Heights.

The fire was reported around 4:30 a.m. in the 5900 block of N. Monterey Road, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

About 75 firefighters were battling the fire, which destroyed at least two businesses in the strip mall, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported.
