- McDowell will now stay behind bars until his next court date, which is scheduled for February 21st.
The Florida man who nearly broke the internet when his mugshot went viral due to the size of his neck is behind bars for the third time in just over six months.
Deputies in Escambia County arrested 31-year-old Charles McDowell on Tuesday after the state of Florida filed a motion to have his bond revoke on charges from a July 2018 arrest where he allegedly was carrying cocaine, meth and other drugs.
McDowell will now stay behind bars until his next court date, which is scheduled for February 21st according to the Pensacola News Journal.
After skyrocketing to internet fame following his initial mugshot, McDowell got a chance to take a second one when he was arrested last November in Lee County, Alabama on charges that included eluding officers, reckless driving and possession of marijuana.
Since his initial arrest, McDowell has capitalized on his "wide neck" image, launching an Instagram account with the handle @damnwideneck, which has garnered more than 1.3 million followers. He sells novelty items through his social media account, including t-shirts emblazoned with the words "Free Wide Neck" and "All Necks Matter." According to the Journal, McDowell is reportedly training to compete in a boxing or mixed martial arts event in Pensacola.
