Jeff Axelson will always have memories of his brother, Navy SEAL Matthew Axelson, captures in photos and personal items displayed throughout his home.
Matthew Axelson, a Cupertino native, was one of four Navy SEALs whose mission was to capture or kill Taliban leader Ahmad Shah in June 2005 in the Hindu Kush Mountains of Afghanistan.
The mission failed -- Matthew and two other SEALs were killed in action.
Their story is now being told in a film set to hit theaters called "Lone Survivor," which is based on a book written by the lone Navy SEAL who survived.
Jeff has already seen the film three times at special screenings. He admits it's difficult for him to watch a visual representation of how his brother died.
"It wasn't until the end," he said. "Cause at the very end they actually show video or pictures of the guys and that's when it kind of hits home."
Actor Ben Foster portrays Matthew in Lone Survivor. He met with the family to get a better understanding of the war hero and to capture his spirit.

"Ben captured my brother as well as I could expect anyone to," Jeff said. "So he did a phenomenal job."
Jeff honored his courageous brother by naming his 2-year-old son after him.
