Oakland Zoo Operates on Mountain Lion Shot by Police

Hollister police officers and wildlife crews tried to sedate a mountain lion spotted in the area early Friday morning. but opened fire on the animal after it rushed towards them, they said. In a social media post, the zoo confirmed the animal died and they said “while trying to safely capture him, he was shot by local PD.” On the opposite end, the police department responded to the zoo’s post and said “their choice of words is careless at best and misleading at worst.”
