Team USA Olympic Opening Ceremony Uniforms Unveiled

The "Today" show anchor team gave viewers an exclusive look at Ralph Lauren's latest Olympic looks for the Sochi Opening and Closing Ceremony parade outfits.

Matt Lauer and company on Thursday wore white cotton turtlenecks under cozy-looking cardigans that featured the colors red, white and navy blue with a patchwork of stars, stripes and Olympic rings. The white pants bear the "Team USA" label and whole look is finished off with a reindeer hat and a pair of black leather boots accented by bright red laces.

The ensemble comes with a $1,478 price tag if you want to buy it in stores. Designer Ralph Lauren is donating 100 percent of the proceeds for the Limited Edition Team USA Opening Ceremony Cardigan, which alone costs $598, to the U.S. Olympic Committee, according to Today.com.

American curlers Jessica Schultz and Jared Zezel and Ralph Lauren's David Lauren joined the anchor team for the big unveiling.

The uniforms are manufactured domestically, which is notable in the wake of the controversy over the Team USA outfits for the London Games. Ralph Lauren was heavily criticized for outsourcing the 2012 outfits to China, but the USOC said at the time was too late to change the outfits ahead of the London Games. Instead, they agreed to let Ralph Lauren manufacture the Sochi Games' uniforms domestically. This is the fourth time the designer outfitted the the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams.
