A 45-year-old man was arrested in connection with an attack reported by actress Pauley Perrette, of the popular television show 'NCIS,' Thursday night outside of her Hollywood Hills home.
Perrette detailed her attack on Twitter and said she was walking near her home around 5 p.m. when the man grabbed her and began to punch her in the face and nose. She said she pleaded with him to stop but he continued to assault her before he eventually stopped and told her to leave.
In her statement, Perrette said the man threatened to kill her and "showed me how he was going to kill me." The attacker grabbed her arm and punched her in the face, she tweeted.
Perrette said a man passed by walking his dog and did not try to help the actress after she was assaulted. NBC4 later spoke with that man, who apologized for passing by and said he assumed the woman he encountered lived in a nearby homeless encampment.
Perrette reported the assault to the Los Angeles Police Department and provided officers with a composite sketch of the man.
Perrette said her friend found the man and police arrested 45-year-old David Merck in connection with the alleged assault. He was booked on suspicion of felony battery.
It was not immediately clear whether Merck has an attorney.
