The standoff began at around 5 p.m. in the 8500 block of Columbus Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department Mission Division. Officers were called in for a possible domestic violence dispute between a man and a woman.

Neighbors heard yelling coming from the apartment. It was unknown if the man was armed, but the woman was taken outside of the apartment. The extent of her injuries was unknown.
