Police are looking for three armed men who invaded an Orange County recording studio, tied up the two men inside and stole $40,000 in cash and equipment last week.
Music producer Asaf Fulks said he was cleaning up at the OC Recording Company on Tuesday when three strangers show up at the studio claiming to have had a session scheduled.
"I knew there wasn't a session. They said they came from Las Vegas, and they were lost," Fulks said.
According to Fulks, the men each had a gun and one even punched him in the face. The three then ambushed Fulks' business partner, made both Fulks and the partner strip and naked and then tied the two up together the recording studio's back office.
"They used like a, regular box tape, clear tape, around the arms," Fulks said. "Then, at one point (they) had me come back out, and they wanted to know where the safe was."
Professional microphones, computers, speakers and guitars were among the $40,000 in cash and property allegedly stolen that night.
"I was just following their requests. I wasn't trying to be a superhero or anything," Fulks said. "They had guns to my head. So what am I going to do?"
A nearby security camera captured the getaway car, described as a white Chevrolet Uplander. Police told NBC4 they are hopeful they will find the vehicle. According to police, all three men were similar in appearance and had semi-automatic handguns.
"We'd like other studios to be aware of this and to be careful and I think, not to open the door at night like that for people you don't know," Fulks said.
