Overturned Big Rig Forces Freeway Closure in Downtown LA

A big rig crashed and overturned on a 10 Freeway transition road early Thursday, forcing the closure of all lanes ahead of the morning drive through downtown Los Angeles.

The crash was reported around 12:48 a.m. at the eastbound 10 Freeway transition to the southbound 110 Freeway, just north of the Adams Boulevard off ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver lost control of the big rig and it rolled over onto its side blocking multiple lanes, according to the CHP. Details regarding the driver's injuries were not immediately available. 

CalTrans posted detour signs on surface streets and posted information on freeway signs.

No structural damage was reported on the 110 Freeway. Both sides of the 10 Freeway were being assessed, according to CalTrans.

The freeway transition was expected to reopen around 8 a.m., according to the CHP.
