A pursuit that ended with a crash led to a SWAT search and a quick change of clothes for one of the suspects Tuesday in a San Gabriel Valley home.
The pursuit began around 9 a.m. in the Irwindale area after a report of a possibly stolen vehicle. The driver of the Lexus sport utility vehicle slammed through a concrete wall around a strip mall parking lot at a Baldwin Park intersection.
Two of the armed occupants were arrested shortly after the crash, but one person ran into a nearby residential area. The search involving SWAT officers and a K-9 team led to lockdowns at two nearby schools.
A third auto theft suspect was arrested in the laundry room of a residential property, according to police. Family members heard noises coming from the room and confronted the man, who told them to leave the house, police said.
The man then changed clothes in the house and hid in a bathroom, where he was later found by officers and arrested.
