Baby Among 8 Injured in West Covina Crash

A DUI suspect ran a stop sign and hit two cars in West Covina, causing the injury of eight people, including a baby. The driver has been released from the hospital and will be booked on suspicion of DUI charges. Annette Arreola reports for the NBC4 News at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2016.

Eight people, including an 8-month-old baby, were injured in a three-vehicle collision Monday night in West Covina during a chase of a possible DUI suspect, according to police.

The crash was reported around 8 p.m. at Francisquito and Walnut avenues, according to the West Covina Police Department.

A baby and a 7-year-old girl suffered serious injuries during the crash. Six others were also injured, including the pursuit suspect, according to the West Covina Police Department.

Robert Lopez, 26, was arrested and transported to a hospital for his injuries. Lopez will be booked for suspicion of DUI and evading police, according to the West Covina Police Department.

It was unclear if Lopez had an attorney.
