A man in a stolen pickup who led police on a short chase in Glendora and then allegedly rammed a police cruiser sparking a non-injury officer-involved-shooting was taken into custody late Saturday, Glendora police said.
The shooting in the 1700 block of Dale Road, near the intersection of Bonita Avenue, happened about 7:30 p.m., according to Glendora police Lt. Matt Egan.
The man in the stolen pickup suddenly turned around and rammed a police car, causing the officer in the car to open fire, apparently missing the suspect who got out of the car and fled into the neighborhood.
The officer in the car who opened fire was slightly injured but has since been released from the hospital, Egan said.
Police then set up a perimeter and brought in police dogs to search for the suspect.
The man eventually was found at about 10:45 p.m., hiding in an unlocked trailer in the back of a home, Egan said.
The suspect will be booked on a number of charges, including the attempted murder of a police officer and vehicle theft, Egan said.
