A woman who worked as a dishwasher in one of Gene Simmons' restaurants dropped her lawsuit against him that alleged he sexually battered her in 2016.
Willie Williams, a lawyer for the plaintiff -- identified only as Jane Doe -- filed court papers with Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Dennis Landin on April 24 asking that the case be dismissed. The papers did not state whether a settlement was reached or if the woman was not pursuing the case for other reasons.
According to the lawsuit filed Dec. 6, the alleged assault took place while Doe was working at a Rock & Brews restaurant in San Bernardino County on opening night in December 2016.
Simmons, 69, is the co-lead singer and bassist for the band KISS and a co-founder of the restaurant chain. The suit alleged he walked into the kitchen and asked to take a picture with her. The woman agreed even though she did not know who he was at the time, the suit stated.
During the photo opportunity, Simmons placed his hand on Doe's private parts, leaving the plaintiff in "complete shock," the suit stated.
Doe showed the graphic image to some of her co-workers, the suit stated.
The plaintiff also maintained that during Simmons' visit to the restaurant he also acted in a "sexually charged'' manner with other women by touching their hair and asking some to unbutton their shirts.
