The World Series trophy will soon be hoisted.

The Fall Classic has arrived.

The Texas Rangers will meet the Arizona Diamondbacks in the World Series beginning later this week.

The Rangers, who will have home-field advantage in the best-of-seven series, are seeking their first championship in the franchise's 62-year history. They last played in the World Series in 2011, in which they had a 3-2 series lead on the St. Louis Cardinals before dropping the next two games.

This postseason, the Rangers won their first seven playoff games by sweeping the Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles before winning their first two against the Houston Astros in the American League Championship Series. The Rangers then lost three straight before winning the final two games of the series on the road to advance. By doing so, they denied their intrastate rival what would have been their fifth trip to the World Series in seven years.

The up-and-coming Diamondbacks swept the Milwaukee Brewers in the wild card series and then stunned the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-game sweep during the division series. They then pulled off a comeback to beat the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 7 of the NLCS on the road.

Arizona last reached the Fall Classic in 2001, when they won the championship in just their fourth season in franchise history.

One of these teams will soon be crowned champion.
