The Vault : “They Won't Be the Mighty Ducks”

Disney was about the announce the name of their expansion hockey franchise in Anaheim. Despite the popularity of the movie at the time, Fred Roggin said there was no way they’d call the team the Mighty Ducks. Disney CEO Michael Eisner heard about it and the rest is history. Originally aired on the NBC4 News, March 1, 1993.
