Suspect Involved in No-Hit Shooting Barricaded Inside Supermarket

Shoppers were left shocked after police stormed a Vons store in Cheviot Hills with their guns drawn in search for two gunmen. Beverly White reports for the NBC4 News at 11 on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017.

A suspect involved in a no-hit shooting ran into a supermarket in Cheviot Hills Wednesday and somehow escaped the perimeter and remains at large.

Police responded about 5:20 p.m. to the scene in the 9800 block of National Boulevard, near Manning Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

One suspect ran off and was at large but another ran into a Vons store, according to Media Relations Officer Sal Ramirez.

Officers with the LAPD's Metro Division attempted to persuade the suspect to surrender. Authorities called off the search about 9:45 p.m. when it was determined he was not in the store, police said.

No injuries were reported. A motive for the shooting remains unclear.
