A SWAT team surrounded a home in Long Beach Thursday following a shooting that left a man wounded.
Officers were dispatched about 2:30 p.m. to the 1900 block of Myrtle Avenue to investigate a report of a shooting that had just occurred, according to Long Beach police Sgt. Bradley Johnson.
"Upon arrival, officers found a male adult in a vehicle with a gunshot wound," Johnson said.
Firefighters took the man to a hospital, but his condition was not immediately available.
"Officers determined the shooting occurred in 900 block Dayman (Street) and the victim drove to the 1900 block of Myrtle, where he crashed into a parked vehicle," Johnson said.
Further investigation led police back to a home in the 900 block of Dayman Street, he said.
"Officers surrounded the location and made attempts to call anyone who was inside to exit but there has been no response," Johnson said.
