Three people were killed and one person was transported to the hospital in critical condition after a car overturned in a crash in Marina del Rey, authorities said Monday.
The crash occurred in the 170 block of Via Marina Court around 5 p.m.
Neighbors said they were very sad, but not surprised.
"What's happening is people speed on the street," Cary Goldstone, a neighbor, said. "It's known that people go very fast on the street. And they hit this curve!"
A Honda Accord with four people inside struck a curb and flipped onto its roof before colliding with a tree in the median, LA City Fire said.
Two people were ejected from the car, but two were trapped inside the car.
Three people were discovered to be dead when authorities arrived, LA City Fire said.

The victims were identified as two men and two women in their late teens to early 20's, the California Highway Patrol said.
The remaining survivor of the crash was said to be a woman. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
It wasn't immediately clear what led to the crash, or if the driver was impaired or distracted. Investigators couldn't tell exactly how fast the car was going.
"We are seeking witnesses for this actual traffic collision," Patrick Stafford of the CHP said.
Neighbors said they thought preventative measures should have been taken.
"They need to have some kind of a warning: 'The street's curving, slow down.' Something," Irene Newman, a neighbor, said.
