The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation's blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families.
Volunteer are needed to raise awareness about the importance of installing smoke alarms in the home by going door-to-door to ask residents if they would like free smoke alarms installed in their homes. Residents will be provided information on fire safety and preparedness, and will learn how to create a home evacuation plan. No experience necessary. To volunteer, click here.
