LifeStream, founded in 1951, is responsible for monitoring community blood supply and responding with corresponding collection of blood and follow-up testing, storing and distributing product to hospitals. LifeStream’s medical team is on call 24/7 to provide transfusion medicine consultation with local physicians.
LifeStream serves more than 80 Southern California hospitals; everyday and emergency supplies of blood components must be safely packaged and delivered daily for use in transfusions for surgical and cancer patients; accident, burn and trauma victims; even prematurely born babies and women giving birth.
