The Vermont Village Community Development Corporation promotes peace within under-served communities throughout the Los Angeles area. Preservation of life, reduction of crime and violence, and community welfare are essentials for the organization. We are committed to ending violence within the community (commonly referred to as “South Central Los Angeles” or “Vermont Manchester ”), and eradicating street gangs, criminals and degenerative social conditions that too often misguide our youth into becoming victims or future perpetrators of crime. Services offered by the program include education in the area of basic skills, school outreach, gang prevention/intervention, career development, and resources for charitable community activities.
Volunteers help with a variety of activities including community clean-ups, coaching of sports activities, food distributions, transportation needs, tutoring and more. To volunteer, click here.
