LA City Council approves rent increase of 4%

The Los Angeles City Council approved a plan to cap rent increases at 4% for rent controlled units and 6% for landlords who pay for gas and electricity. Rent would be temporarily increased from February 2024 to June 30, 2024, after which housing officials will make recommendations for a permanent plan.
