Team USA women's basketball took a commanding 19-point halftime lead over Nigeria in their quarterfinal matchup Wednesday.

Nigeria stayed within single digits during the first part of the second quarter, but eventually couldn't maintain pace shotmaking-wise and trailed 52-33.

The U.S. shot 20 of 34 (59%) from the field, with Breanna Stewart's 13 points and A'ja Wilson's 10 leading the way. Brittney Griner added five off the bench.

American wrestler Sarah Hildebrandt won gold Wednesday after defeating Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez 3-0.

It is Hildebrandt's first Olympic gold medal. She won a bronze medal in the women's freestyle 50kg event in Tokyo.

Hildebrandt was initially slated to wrestle against India's Vinesh Phogat, who defeated Guzman Lopez 5-0 in the semifinal match on Tuesday, but Phogat was disqualified when she weighed in 100 grams above the 50kg weight limit ahead of the final match Wednesday.

For some perspective, 100 grams is the equivalent to around 0.22 pounds, which is approximately the weight of a bar of soap.

American Kenneth Rooks made the Olympic podium for the first time with a silver medal finish in the men's 3000m steeplechase.

Morocco's Soufiane El Bakkali repeated as Olympic champion with a time of 8:06.05. El Bakkali overtook Rooks, who finished in 8:06.41, for first place late in the race.

Kenya's Abraham Kibiwot finished third with a time of 8:06.47.

Reigning Olympic silver medalist Lamecha Girma of Ethiopia didn't finish after taking a hard fall late in the final. Girma was stretchered off following the race, according to the NBC broadcast.

China's Hou Zhihui won gold on Wednesday in women's 49-kilogram weightlifting at the Paris Olympics, defending her Olympic gold from Tokyo.

Romania's Mihaela Valentina Cambei took silver while Surodchana Khambao of Thailand earned the bronze.

Australia's Nina Kennedy took gold Wednesday in women's pole vault at the Paris Olympics.

Team USA's Katie Moon took silver, while Canada's Alysha Newman earned the bronze.

Team USA's Quincy Hall won gold in the men's 400m final, storming to first place in the race's final stretch. Hall posted a personal-best time of 43.40 seconds.

Great Britain's Matthew Hudson-Smith wasn't able to fend off Hall, finishing a close second with a time of 43.44 seconds. Zambia's Muzala Samukonga (43.74 seconds) placed third.

If they advance from the quarterfinals, the U.S. women's team plays Australia Friday, Aug. 9. That would be for win 60, in theory.

The women's gold medal game is set for Sunday, Aug. 11 — one of the last events at the 2024 Olympics.

Uncertainly no more: Sarah Hildebrandt will face Cuban Yusneylis Guzman Lopez for a gold medal in women's 50kg wrestling.

Guzman Lopez lost to India's Vinesh Phogat in yesterday's semifinal match, and it appeared Phogat would face Hildebrandt today. But wrestlers are required to meet weight requirements on both days of competition, and Phogat failed the weight test this morning, coming in 100 grams above weight.

As a result, Guzman was awarded the spot in the finals.

The Wrestling Federation of India said it would appeal the decision, so there was some suspense as to who Hildebrandt would face. But the appeal did not seek a spot for Phogat in the final -- instead, it requested she be awarded a silver medal, in addition to the loser of the gold-medal match.

The gold-medal match will be in about 45 minutes. Stream live on NBC Olympics or Peacock.

Hampton Morris became the first American man to win a weightlifting medal in 40 years when he took bronze in the men's 61kg (134 lbs.) final.

Noah Lyles has taken another step toward pulling off the rare sprint double.

The Olympic champion in the 100m sprint was among three Americans who qualified for the men's 200m final, along with Kenny Bednarek and Erriyon Knighton.

Lyles placed second in his semifinal heat with a time of 20.08 seconds, finishing behind Botswana's Letsile Tebogo (19.96). Reigning silver medalist Bednarek (20.00) and the 20-year-old Knighton (20.09) both won their respective heats.

The U.S. figure skating team receives gold medals in a Paris ceremony two years removed from the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. In the wake of a Russian doping scandal, the U.S. was upgraded from silver to gold in July.

The United States has just won silver in team artistic swimming, with China taking the gold and Spain bronze. It's the U.S.' first medal in the team event since bronze in Athens in 2004.

With longtime powerhouse Russia not competing in Paris, the United States and China were both eyeing medals going into the team acrobatic final, which capped off the three-day team competition that also included technical and freestyle portions.

It's the first Olympics to include this third acrobatic portion, which added to the unpredictability of the competition in Paris with the absence of the Russian team.

Team USA is moving on in the men's water polo tournament.

It took a penalty shootout after the score was tied at 7-7 through regulation, and the U.S. delivered in the clutch to secure an 11-10 win over Australia.

Both sides made their first penalty shot, but the U.S. got a stop and a score in the third round to pull ahead. Both sides failed to score in the fourth round, then Australia buried its fifth attempt to put pressure on the U.S.

Marko Vavic sealed the 4-3 lead in penalties, with a game-winning goal in the final frame.

The U.S. advances to the semifinal for the first time since 2008, when it won silver in Beijing.

The Team USA hurdler has quite the sneaker collection.

The United States and Australia are tied at 7-7 after 32 minutes. That means it's time for a penalty shootout to decide who advances to the men's water polo semifinals.

Australia's Luke Pavillard scored two goals in a minute to give his team a 7-6 lead, but Alex Bowen tied it for the U.S. with 32 seconds to play.

Through three quarters of the men's water polo quarterfinal, the U.S. and Australia are tied at 5-5.

Australia did not score in the third quarter. The U.S. tied the match up on a penalty shot goal by Hannes Daube with 3:25 to play in the frame.

Now, there are eight minutes to play with a spot in the semifinals against Serbia on the line.

Love is in the air at the Paris Olympics with an abundance of proposals.

Alice Finot of France added to the list of Olympic engagements by proposing to her boyfriend after finishing fourth and breaking a European record in the women's steeplechase final on Tuesday.

The United States just won its first Olympic gold in the women's team pursuit track cycling event. It's the second gold medal of the Paris Olympics for Kristen Faulkner, who didn't even initially qualify for the Olympics.

The U.S. beat New Zealand around the velodrome (that's cycling speak for a banked indoor track) in the gold medal match, putting up a final time of 4:04.306 over the race's 4 kilometers.

Great Britain took bronze in the third-place match.

The U.S. men's water polo team has some work to do.

Team USA trails Australia 5-3 at halftime of Wednesday's quarterfinal matchup, where offense has been hard to come by.

Luca Cupido and Alex Bowen scored for the U.S. in the second quarter. Johnny Hooper, who was later ejected for throwing a punch, had Team USA's goal in the first quarter.

The winner of this match will move on to face Serbia in the semifinals on Friday.

As Sarah Hildebrandt's gold-medal wrestling match creeps closer, one major question remains: Who will she face?

Right now, the official matchup is against Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez. But India's wrestling federation is trying a last-ditch effort to get Vinesh Phogat back in the match.

Yesterday, Phogat beat Guzman Lopez, 5-0, in the women's 50kg semifinal, and thought she secured a spot in the gold-medal match. But wrestlers are required to make weight on both days of the competition, and this morning Phogat failed her weigh-in, coming in 100 grams above the 50kg limit.

As a result, Guzman Lopez was awarded the spot in the finals.

The Wrestling Federation of India filed a last-ditch appeal to get Phogat back in the match. But with about two hours until the match, time is running out on Phogat's gold-medal hopes.

In a low-scoring first quarter, Australia leads the U.S. 3-1 in the men's water polo quarterfinal.

The biggest moment came in the final minute of the quarter, when a U.S. goal was wiped off the board due to a brutality penalty by Johnny Hooper for throwing a punch. Australia got a penalty shot, and Luke Pavillard converted to extend the lead. The penalty also included a four-minute power play, which will stretch into the second quarter.

Hooper, coincidentally, was the lone goal scorer for the U.S. Pavillard had two goals for Australia.

Hampton Morris earned a bronze medal in weightlifting on Wednesday at the Paris Olympics and you can bet he earned a cup of joe. Morris says he owns a wide variety of coffee brewers, from a pour over to a nitro press for cold brew.

2012 Olympic 4x400m silver medalist Manteo Mitchell has high expectations for U.S. sprinters Noah Lyles, Erriyon Knighton and Kenny Bednarek in the 200m at the Paris Olympics. The 200m semifinals will be contested today at 2:02 p.m. ET.

“I'm expecting a sweep,” Mitchell said. “That's what I'm calling right now is a U.S. sweep.”

Australia followed up its record-setting performance on Tuesday with a gold-medal victory on Wednesday in the men's team pursuit track cycling event.

The country beat Great Britain by more than two seconds in the gold-medal race with a time of 3:42.067.

Australia had set a world record on Tuesday with a 3:40.730 in its heat against Italy.

Great Britain's silver marks a return to the podium. The country three-peated in the event from 2008 to 2016 before finishing seventh at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Italy, the gold medalist at the last Olympics, earned bronze by defeating Denmark.

Team USA can still earn a medal in men's volleyball — but it won't be gold or silver.

Poland defeated the U.S. 3-2 in the semifinals to clinch a spot in the gold medal match, where it will face the winner of Italy vs. France (Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT).

After dropping the first set 25-23, the U.S. gained control of the match. The team squeaked out a 27-25 win in the second set before a dominant 25-14 win in the third set.

In the fourth set, Poland outlasted the U.S. through nine ties before taking it 25-23 and forcing a fifth set. They rode that momentum into the final set, taking a 14-10 lead and finally winning 15-13.

The gold medal match is set for Saturday at 7 a.m. ET/4 a.m. PT, while the U.S. will play for bronze on Friday at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT.

It's time for the knockout round in men's water polo.

Team USA battled through the group stage with a 3-2 record, including a key 14-11 victory over Croatia in the finale that helped them avoid facing undefeated Spain in the quarterfinals.

Instead, the U.S. will square off with Australia — who also went 3-2 in group play. Australia scored just 44 goals in its five games, compared to 59 for the U.S.

Wednesday's semifinal begins at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on USA Network and Peacock.

California native Tom Schaar is taking home the silver in skateboarding park. The 24-year-old earned a 92.23 on his second run, the highest of his three runs to take home his first Olympic medal.

Australia's Keegan Palmer, the defending champion from Tokyo, maintains his title with another gold win with a top score of 93.11. Brazil's Augusto Akio wins the bronze with 91.85.

Tate Carew, from San Diego, came in 5th place with a high score of 91.17.

It all comes down to this.

Poland's 25-23 victory in the fourth set has sent Wednesday's men's volleyball semifinal against the United States into a decisive fifth set.

There were nine ties throughout the chaotic fourth set before Poland put it away.

The final set will be played to 15, with the winner advancing to the gold medal match on Saturday.

American golfer Lilia Vu has put herself in good position for a podium finish with three rounds to play at Le Golf National this week.

The 2023 women's British Open champ and reigning LPGA Tour money winner finished 2-under par after her first round at the Paris Olympics.

Vu trails France's Celine Boutier (7-under) and South Africa's Ashleigh Buhai (4-under) on the leaderboard and sits in a four-way tie for third.

Fellow Americans Nelly Korda and Rose Zhang are tied for 13th at even par after one round.

Hampton Morris is an Olympic medalist at just 20 years old, and he ended a 40-year drought in the process with bronze in the men's 61kg weightlifting event.

The Marietta, Georgia, native gave the U.S. its first men's weightlifting medal at the Olympics since 1984. He also became the youngest American man to medal in the sport since 1956.

Morris started out his Olympic debut with a 126kg snatch and followed it up with an event-leading 172kg clean and jerk. His 298kg combined total put him behind gold medalist Li Fabin of China (310kg) and silver medalist Theerapong Silachai of Thailand (303 kg).

Fabin has now won back-to-back golds in the event. He started out with an Olympic-record 143kg snatch, 3kg shy of his world record. He then completed a 167kg clean and jerk to close out on his second straight Olympic title.

Eko Irawan of Indonesia was on the verge of becoming the first weightlifter in history to win five Olympic medals, but he was unable to complete the clean and jerk.

The U.S. men's volleyball team can taste the gold medal match.

The Americans took a 2-1 lead in Wednesday's best-of-five match against Poland, pulling away for a 25-14 third-set victory.

While the first two sets were tight, the third set was total domination by Team USA which closed the set on a 14-5 run and positioned itself on the brink of advancing.

South Africa's Dallas Oberholzer, 49, and Great Britain's Andy Macdonald, 51, drew standing ovations after throwing down tricks as the two oldest athletes competing in men's skateboard park.

Australia's Matt Wearn won the gold in the resail of the men's dinghy medal race.

In defending his title from the 2020 Tokyo Games, Wearn becomes the first man to win back-to-back gold medals in this event.

Cyprus' Pavlos Kontides will take the silver and Peru's Stefano Peschiera gets bronze.

It's just Cyprus' second Olympic medal in any sport in history, with Kontides having won the other at the 2012 London Games.

We're all tied up in the men's volleyball semifinal.

Team USA took the second set to even the match with Poland at 1-1. The U.S. narrowly won 27-25.

Exactly like the first set, the two sides were never separated by more than four points throughout the second set. It was tied at 22, 23, 24 and 25 before the U.S. scored two straight points to take it.

A heartbreak for Sarah Bacon, who was one spot out from qualifying for the women's 3-meter springboard semifinals.

Bacon is a reserve along with Germany's Jette Muller.

Alison Gibson, the other American diver competing in today's event, also failed to move through to the semifinals, ranking last on the preliminary leaderboard with a low score of 198.30.

At least 40 Olympic athletes at the Paris Games have tested positive for COVID-19 or other respiratory illnesses, according to the World Health Organization.

The U.N. health agency warned Tuesday that COVID-19 infections are surging worldwide, including at the Olympics, and are unlikely to decline anytime soon.

"WHO has been working closely with the International Olympic Committee and the Government of France to protect the health and well-being of the 10,714 athletes, as well as spectators, during the Games," the statement said.

It was a back-and-forth first set of the men's volleyball semifinal, and it ended with Poland taking it 25-23 over the U.S.

Poland never trailed in the set, but it was tight from start to finish. It was tied at one, two and 13 and the U.S. never trailed by more than four points. Team USA fended off three set points before Poland finally clinched it with a spike from Norbert Huber.

If the first set is any indication, this best-of-five set match could be a thriller.

Belgium is one win away from a medal in just its second Olympic women's basketball appearance.

The team defeated Spain 79-66 in Wednesday's quarterfinal behind 19 points apiece from Emma Meesseman and Kyara Linskens.

Both offenses got off to a hot start in a 26-26 first quarter, but Belgium's defense held Spain to 23 total points across the next 20 minutes. Belgium took an 18-point lead into the fourth quarter and held on for the 13-point victory.

Belgium will face the winner of today's Germany-France quarterfinal in a semifinal showdown on Friday.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, welterweight boxer Omari Jones of the United States lost his semifinal to Uzbekistan’s Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev. In advancing to this round, Jones secured a bronze medal.

Germany stunned France in the men's handball quarterfinals, beating the host nation 35-34 in overtime following a miraculous ending to regulation.

France was up 29-28 with five seconds left and possession before it turn the ball over at midfield. Germany's Julian Köster took the ball and passed it off to Renārs Uščins, who raced up the field and fired in a goal just as time expired.

Uščins went on to score the winning goal, his 14th of the match, for Germany in the final seconds of OT to send the team to the semifinals.

American skaters Tom Schaar and Tate Carew are on to the finals in the men's park finals.

Schaar is heading into the medal event ranking second on the leaderboard with a high score of 92.05. Keegan Palmer, the reigning gold medalist from Tokyo, is first with 93.78.

San Diego native Carew is fourth with a high score of 90.42. The top eight skaters from the heats qualify for the finals set to take place later this morning 11:30 a.m. ET/8:30 a.m. PT.

Poland has captured the first medal ever in women's speed climbing thanks to Aleksandra Miroslaw.

Miroslaw clinched the Olympic women's speed climbing title after racing up the wall 0.08 seconds faster than China's Deng Lijuan. Miroslaw won Olympic gold with her run time of 6.10 seconds two days after setting a new world record of 6.06 seconds.

Miroslaw joins these Olympians who have made history by medaling in new events in Paris.

A trip to the gold medal match is on the line for the U.S. men's indoor volleyball team.

After a 3-1 victory over Brazil in the quarterfinals, Team USA has a date with Poland in the semifinals on Wednesday at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT.

The American squad has yet to lose a match at the 2024 Olympics, going a perfect 3-0 in group play before beating Brazil. Team USA has won 12 of 16 sets so far in Paris.

Poland, meanwhile, went 2-1 in group play -- only losing to No. 1-seed Italy. The team defeated Slovenia 3-1 in the quarterfinals.

Team USA is looking to make its first Olympic final since 2008, when it beat Brazil in Beijing for the gold medal. The team won bronze in 2016 but finished 10th in 2021.

Weightlifting has officially commenced at the Paris Olympics.

The men's 61kg event began after a 20-minute delay over technical maintenance.

The two Americans competing in the men's kayak single 1000-meter quarterfinals failed to qualify for the semifinals.

Ecker finished fifth in his heat with a time of 3:41.77 and Small also finished with a time of 3:42.05. Only the fastest two times in each heat qualify for the semifinals.

Marit Bouwmeester of the Netherlands is taking home the gold in the women's dinghy finals. Bouwmeester effectively secured her gold medal win on Monday after building an unassailable lead ahead of the medal race.

Denmark's Anne-Marie Rindom wins the silver medal and Norway's Line Flem Hoest will take the bronze.

After crossing the finish line, the three nordic athletes jumped into the Marseilles Marina and hugged in celebration.

Team USA's Erika Reineke ended the race in ninth place.

The U.S. will race for gold in the women's team pursuit track cycling event after defeating Great Britain in a first-round matchup.

Team USA crossed the finish line in 4:04.629, while Great Britain posted a 4:04.908 time.

A collision in the home stretch caused a massive fall in men's 5000-meter heat at the Paris Olympics involving Great Britain's George Mills.

We are halfway through the men's skateboarding park preliminaries and the Americans are currently dominating the top of the leaderboard.

After groups 1 and 2, Tom Shaar is in second place with a best run of 92.05, Tate Carew is in third with a high score of 90.42 and Gavin Bottger is in 5th with 88.29.

Ten skaters are left to go and the top eight qualify for the finals.

The reigning Olympic gold medal winner in women's golf was close to last place on the leaderboard at Le Golf National in Paris after her first seven holes.

With three left to play in the first round, Nelly Korda now sits tied for 10th at even par.

Her 3-over par through seven has been erased by birdies on holes 9, 13 and 14.

Korda sits tied with fellow American Rose Zhang and 14 others at even par as of 8 a.m. ET.

Aleksandra Miroslaw of Poland made Olympic history on Wednesday by winning gold in the inaugural women's speed climbing event.

Miroslaw did not need to break her own world record again to win the event, but it was an incredibly close call in the end. After posting a 6.06-second climb in the seeding rounds, Miroslaw claimed gold with a 6.10 mark in her head-to-head showdown with China's Deng Lijuan, who finished less than one-tenth of second later at 6.18.

Fellow Polish climber Aleksandra Kalucka also made it onto the podium by beating Indonesia's Rajiah Sallsabillah for bronze.

American Emma Hunt lost to Indonesia's Rajiah Sallsabillah in their quarterfinal matchup in women's speed climbing.

Sallsabillah finished in a personal-best 6.54 seconds, while Hunt clocked in at 7.98 seconds.

Payton Jacobson's Olympic debut ended with a loss to Serbia's Aleksandr Komarov in the men's Greco-Roman 87 kilogram round of 16.

The 21-year-old American lost 10-0 after a dominant performance by the 25-year-old Serbian. Jacobson is now out of the 2024 Olympics.

For the second straight day, Australia and Serbia met on the court.

A day after Nikola Jokic and Serbia won an overtime thriller against Australia in the men's basketball tournament, Australia got some revenge with an 85-67 victory in the women's quarterfinals.

Alanna Smith led the charge for Australia with 22 points, while Jade Melbourne and Cayla George added 18 points apiece.

Australia will now face the winner of the final quarterfinal between Team USA and Nigeria on Friday as it chases its first Olympic medal since 2012.

Bryce Hoppel and Hobbs Kessler of Team USA advanced out of men's 800-meter qualifying.

Hoppel finished second in the final heat with a 1:45.24, while Kessler secured his semifinal spot with a third-place 1:46.15 in the fourth heat.

Brandon Miller, the third American in the event, is heading to the repechage after finishing eighth in the third heat with a 1:46.34.

There will be an all-new Olympic podium in the 800-meter in Paris, as none of the three medalists for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics are in the event this year.

Dominique Parrish was defeated 6-0 by Japan's Akari Fujinami in the women's freestyle 53kg 1/8 finals.

The American wrestler, making her Olympic debut, won gold at the 2022 World Championships.

Fujinami claimed gold at the 2021 and 2023 World Championships and appears poised to contend for a medal in Paris after her dominant performance against Parrish. She now moves on to the quarterfinals against Mongolia's Batkhuyagiin Khulan.

Fickle winds in Marseille have again postponed the sailing schedule, forcing the delay of the medal races for one-person dinghies.

Also delayed today are the women's and men's kite races. All four events were originally set to take place on Tuesday but were canceled because of poor wind conditions.

It's not yet clear if the winds will pick up today and the events will take place.

Team USA's Shelby McEwen was the top high jumper in men's qualifying, clearing 2.27 meters on his first attempt. Fellow Americans JuVaughn Harrison and Vernon Turner did not make the cut.

It was an eventful morning for the Tokyo Olympic co-gold medalists. Qatar's Mutaz Barshim overcame a left leg injury to qualify for the final, while Italy's Gianmarco Tamberi also advanced despite missing all of his attempts at 2.27 meters.

The two shared another moment of Olympic solidarity, as Tamberi ran over to support Barshim after he went down with the injury.

U.S. women's golfer Nelly Korda is facing an uphill battle on the front-nine of Le Golf National.

The gold-medal winner at the Tokyo Olympics, Korda was a presumed favorite at the tournament in Paris.

She sits 3-over par through seven holes, six shots off Norway's Celine Borge (-3) on the leaderboard.

Fellow Americans Lilia Vu and Rose Zhang are also off the tee at Le Golf National, Vu on the first hole and Zhang (+1) just completing her first nine holes at 6:05 a.m. ET.

American sport climber Colin Duffy advanced to the men's boulder and lead final with a strong performance in the lead semifinal.

Duffy was in 11th place (33.8 points) following Monday's boulder semifinal, and he came through with 54.1 points in the lead semifinal, pushing him into seventh place overall.

Japan's Sorato Anraku had the top combined semifinal score at 137.0, Great Britain's Toby Roberts (122.2) was second and Adam Ondra of the Czech Republic (116.8) was third. Tokyo gold medalist Alberto Ginés López of Spain is in the mix after finishing fourth in the semifinals with 100.7 points.

The final will be held on Friday with the boulder portion beginning at 4:15 a.m. ET/1:15 a.m. PT and the lead portion beginning at 6:35 a.m. ET/3:35 a.m. PT.

Maggie Malone-Hardin, the lone Team USA thrower in women's javelin, is out of the event after posting a 58.76-meter mark in qualifying.

Malone-Hardin ranked 12th in the first qualification group. With only 12 throwers qualifying for the final and several throwers surpassing her early in the second group, Malone-Hardin is no longer in contention.

Diver Carson Tyler has advanced to the men's 3-meter finals. Tyler came back from a wobbly preliminary to perform six strong dives in the semifinals and secure his spot in the finals with a score of 438.3.

Fellow American Andrew Capobianco did not make it through to the finals, ranking in 15th place with a score of 407.65.

Team USA's Grant Fisher and Graham Blanks are through to the men's 5000-meter final, while Abdihamid Nur is out after falling on the final lap of the second heat.

Blanks finished sixth with a 14:09.06 time in the opening heat, which featured a major pileup down the final stretch. Fisher then placed fourth in the second heat with a 13:52.44.

Norway's Jakob Ingebrigsten, who won gold in the men's 1500m at the Tokyo Olympics, led the pack at 13:51.59.

Team USA will not medal in men's Greco-Roman 97kg wrestling.

Joe Rau was defeated by Kyrgyzstan's Uzur Dzhuzupbekov 9-4 in Wednesday's repechage match.

Rau was the only American competing in this weight category.

Vinesh Phogat of India, who was due to compete in the gold medal bout against American Sarah Ann Hildebrandt, has been disqualified after surpassing the 50 kilogram weight limit during a weigh-in this morning.

In a post on X, India's Olympic committee said Phogat came in at "a few grams" over 50 kilogram.

Hildebrandt will compte against Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez at the finals set to take place at the Champ-de-Mars at 12:15 p.m. ET.

American sport climber Jesse Grupper returned to Le Bourget Climbing Venue on Wednesday for the second semifinal in the men's boulder and lead event.

With 18.9 points in Monday's boulder semifinal and 12.0 points in the lead semifinal this morning, Grupper is currently in 17th place and out of the mix for a spot in the eight-man final.

Fellow Team USA climber Colin Duffy will be up later in the session with his eyes on the final after scoring the 11th-most points (33.8) in the boulder semifinal.

It will be a busy day on the court at Bercy Arena with four women's basketball semifinals.

Serbia and Australia will tip things off at 5 a.m. ET/2 a.m. PT, Spain and Belgium will be next at 8:30 a.m. ET/5:30 a.m. PT and host nation France will face Germany in the third quarterfinal at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT.

Team USA will put its 58-game Olympic winning streak on the line against Nigeria in the final quarterfinal of the day. The game will begin at 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT.

All three Team USA sprinters in the women's 100 meter hurdles advanced out of Wednesday's qualifying.

Alaysha Johnson (12.61 seconds) finished second in the opening heat, Masai Russell (12.53) won the third heat and Grace Stark (12.72) placed third in the fifth heat.

Reigning Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico (12.42) and world record holder Tobi Amusan of Nigeria (12.49) also secured semifinal spots after winning their heats.

Eighteen runners advanced in all, with the remaining runners (minus one disqualification) heading to the repechage on Thursday for another shot at the semifinals.

Maria Perez and Alvaro Martin of Spain won gold in the mixed relay race walk.

Ecuador's Daniel Pintado and Glenda Morejon are taking home the silver and Australia's Rhydian Cowley and Jemima Montag will take the bronze. Pintado's second place win makes him the first Ecuadorian ever to win two medals at the same Olympics after his gold in the men's 20km race walk. 

This is the first time the new event has been featured at an Olympics. Twenty-five teams participated in the race, each made up of one male and one female athlete, who complete the marathon distance — nearly 43 kilometers — in four stages of approximately 10km each, alternating in the race (man, woman, man, woman).
