Firefighters have successfully stopped the growth of an approximately 25-acre brush fire in Castaic Wednesday morning.

The South Coast Air Quality Management District is considering pausing operations in the morning at the Chiquita Canyon Landfill near Castaic and will discuss at a hearing Tuesday making modifications to the order of abatement issued to the operators of the landfill in September.
